SkinPen gives your skin the reset that it needs. Not only is SkinPen the first FDA-cleared micro needling device, but it’s also made in the USA – which means it’s rigorously tested for safety. Experience radiant results in as little as three treatment sessions!
-
SkinPen by Crown Aesthetics is the first FDA-cleared micro needling device in the world, clinically proven to safely and effectively fight the appearance of neck wrinkles and facial acne scars for ages 22 and up. With as few as three non-invasive and affordable treatments spaced 30 days apart, you can improve your appearance for six months after your last treatment – and step out with confidence.
-
SkinPen creates hundreds to thousands of “micro” skin punctures per second to stimulate the skin’s natural wound healing process – inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling – to prompt tissue remodeling without causing scar tissue formation. Most patients can return to normal activities within 24 hours.

-
SkinPen is clinically proven to fight the appearance of neck wrinkles and reduce the appearance of acne scars. In fact, 90% of subjects in the clinical trial would recommend the treatment to friends and family. It’s a minimally invasive procedure performed in-office with little to no downtime.

-
Unlike some alternatives, SkinPen has been clinically proven to be effective for women and men with all Fitzpatrick Skin Types I – VI. Unlike lasers or chemical peels that can damage skin over the long term, SkinPen treatments, when properly spaced and overseen by a physician, can be used for years.

-
SkinPen is safe by design. SkinPen’s patented – and single-use – sterile needle cartridge is built with safety in mind. SkinPen is also surrounded by a custom-designed BioSheath that acts as a barrier to prevent cross-contamination between procedures. That’s part of the reason SkinPen by Crown Aesthetics is the world’s first FDA-cleared micro-needling device. Learn more by reviewing our patient labeling document.

-
Micro-needling procedures tend to cost less than the alternatives, due to their non-invasive nature. The cost of SkinPen procedures varies depending on the size and the number of treatment areas. During your consultation, your physician can develop a plan to work within your budget.

-
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s clearance covers not only the SkinPen device but the entire protocol. That includes the Skinfuse® Lift HG hydrogel used to protect against abrasion and friction during the treatment, as well as the custom-designed BioSheath to prevent cross-contamination.

-
The SkinPen treatment works in three simple steps, designed to activate the skin’s natural healing process. Following each session, the skin begins to heal itself, looking more renewed and rejuvenated over time. SkinPen is only used in professional settings and delivers dramatic results without the use of heat or chemicals.
-
Inflammation: SkinPen’s microneedles pierce the skin, triggering your immune system to disinfect the wounds, remove debris, increase blood flow, and begin to create new tissue.
-
Proliferation: The micro-wounds created by SkinPen are rebuilt with new granulation cells that include collagen proteins. Additionally, a new network of blood vessels develops.
-
Remodeling: The wound is replaced with new dermal tissues and blood vessels which are comprised of rich collagen and elastin proteins. These proteins improve skin youthfulness.
-

SkinPen should not be used on patients who have active skin cancer in the treatment area(s); open wounds, sores, or irritated skin in the treatment area(s); an allergy to stainless steel or anesthetics; a hemorrhagic (bleeding) disorder or hemostatic (bleeding) dysfunction; are pregnant or nursing; or are currently taking drugs with the ingredient isotretinoin (such as Accutane). Talk to your doctor to see if this treatment is right for you.
A Guide On How to Choose the Right Med Spa
July 2022
A Med Spa is a combination of an aesthetic medical clinic and a day spa under the supervision of a licensed physician. Every med spa is different and the procedures offered may vary depending on where you go. But how do you choose a QUALITY med spa? We compiled a list of questions you should ask before booking a procedure...

Quality Over Quantity
How large is their menu? You want to find a practice that is skilled in a few quality treatments as opposed to being "ok" at everything! At Velo, we specialize in age management and skincare through natural procedures.
How Involved is the Supervising Physician?
Plenty of med spas work under a supervising physician without the physician actually ever stepping foot in the facility. It is important to ask the clinic how often their Doctor is in the facility and if you have access to them if there is a complication. Top med spas have their aesthetics team train and work closely with their supervising Medical Director. There is a reason the State of Florida requires a medical doctor to be the director of med spas.
Hand Selected Beauty Products
Finding out who chooses the skincare products and facials is a great way to tell if you are at a quality med spa. A top spa will have a senior esthetician who selects the products and puts together the facial protocols. Asking why they chose a specific line can be very insightful. Some spas may simply choose a line for brand recognition, not quality.
IS YOUR SKIN SUMMER READY? Laser Hair Removal
June 2022
If hair removal for summer is high on your to-do list, Velo Med Spa has the newest technology waiting for you. Our laser hair removal technology can be safely used on most areas of the body that have unwanted hair, including bikini area, legs, arms, chest, back, shoulders, stomach, neck, chin, and sideburns.

Diolaze is the upgraded, second-generation laser hair removal system from lnMode and one of the most effective laser hair removal systems in the market today to remove unwanted hair safely and gently from ALL skin types. It's also powerful enough to properly remove any hair in all areas without damaging the skin.

Diolaze XLW covers more surface area than most all other laser hair removal treatments, making it ideal for bigger areas such as your legs or back. By using a Wide cooling plate, it keeps the skin cool, making the process more comfortable than other laser hair removal treatments.

Although hair removal methods such as waxing and shaving might be cheaper, in the long run, you will see more benefits and save more money With Diolaze XL laser hair removal.

THE BENEFITS INCLUDE:
-
It's quick! Depending on which area you choose, you Will only need 15-20 minutes to complete most sessions. This process eliminates your hair, causing it to grow back ata much slower pace as it destroys the hair follicles.
-
It's safe! The new Diolaze XLW is the "gold standard" of laser hair removal devices. Although it's one Of the most powerful laser hair treatments available, it has several built-in safety mechanisms to avoid any damage to your skin and effectively rid your body of any unwanted hair.
-
No more ingrown hair! While common in waxing, threading, and shaving, annoying ingrown hairs are avoided with this laser hair removal treatment. It can also treat existing ingrown hairs which makes it a fantastic choice for those prone to this uncomfortable condition.
HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE REQUIRED?
Hair is reduced with each treatment and results are observed after four to six sessions. The number of sessions will differ depending on your hair color, hair type, body area, and skin tone.

WHY DO I NEED MULTIPLE HAIR TREATMENTS TO ACHIEVE HAIR REMOVAL?
As with all laser hair removal methods, DiolazeXL requires a series of treatments. Laser hair removal works best when hair follicles are in their mature stage; however, at any given time your hair is in various stages of growth. Diolaze XLW has no required downtime! That means you can drop in for a treatment session and then head back to work or running errands immediately after. In rare cases, it's possible to experience slight redness of the treated area. This will usually resolve itself in about 24-48 hours.
Let's Grow
May 2022
Losing Hair?
You're not alone. Nearly 50 percent of men, by their late forties or early fifties, are suffering from noticeable hair
loss. Surprisingly, the statistics for women are even higher. By age 40, upwards of 40 percent of women suffer from hair loss that appears only to worsen with age. By 60, 80 percent of women have hair-thinning worries.

Hair loss can be temporary or permanent. The causes are multiple, from alopecia, age, chronic illness, pregnancy, to stress - and these days - even due in some cases to COVID. No matter what the cause, hair loss is a highly sensitive subject. Considering how widespread hair loss and subsequent stress can have on its sufferers, it is a surprisingly taboo topic to talk about. For a vast majority of men and women, going bald is something that is suffered in silence.
No longer. There is a relatively new approach with good scientific evidence to suggest a natural way to restore hair growth. It's called, "Platelet-Rich Plasma" or PRP. It only requires your blood and can be done right in the comfort of our office.
What is PRP?
To understand how PRP works, it is important to be aware of the role that platelets play in healing. Our blood is made of two main components - red blood cells and plasma. The plasma contains white blood cells and platelets, which are rich in growth factors. When we get a cut, for example, the platelets are some of our body's first responders that arrive to stop the bleeding and heal. Given its healing properties, then, it's no wonder platelet injections are now commonly used to treat orthopedic injuries, arthritis - and now, aesthetic issues like hair regrowth.

PRP and Hair Regrowth
PRP has several growth factors that help to restore hair loss. PRP stimulates new hair to grow, keeps existing hair growth, and also stimulates the stem cells that are around the hair follicles to thicken the shaft of the hair. Continued PRP Hair Restoration delivers your own PRP to naturally treat the areas of concern and restore healthy, hair growth.
The PRP and Hair Regrowth Process
In the med spa office, the process begins with a standard, small blood draw from the arm. The blood is spun down in a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells from the plasma. The plasma is then injected directly into the scalp at the level of the hair follicles. The injections can be focused on problem areas or treat widespread hair loss. Typically, the entire procedure takes less than 30 minutes.
Frequency
Due to the natural variation in the quality of platelet-rich plasma, results will vary between individuals. Some patients may require multiple sessions to obtain desired outcomes. Usually, specialists advise at least 4-6 treatments to start to notice the full effect. Treatment can be spaced out between 4-6 weeks with visibility in results taking 6-9 months, but patient's can start to see improvements in 3 months. Annual treatment is required to maintain results.

Safety
Because PRP uses your own plasma, injections are generally deemed safe. Contraindications include an impaired immune system, some skin conditions, steroid therapies, communicable diseases, blood disorders, platelet abnormalities, pregnancy, and breastfeeding. A consultation is required to see if you are a good candidate.
If you are rooking for a more natural yet effective way to restore hair growth or to thicken thinning hair, PRP is a remarkable treatment that is safe, effective, and well-studied.
Age Spots & Sun Damage
April 2022
We all love Florida and everything it has to offer. While SWFL delivers on average 271 sunny days per year, our skin can reflect that sun damage on our skin. One common complaint from our clients is hyperpigmentation or age spots on the face, hands, and even chest area.

Intense pulsed light technology has become a common tool to treat a variety of vascular and pigmented lesions. At Velo Med Spa, we utilize one of the most powerful IPL machines on the market, Lumecca. It uses a higher peak power to deliver stronger results, leading to fewer treatments. What the heck is intense pulsed light? Basically, it's a broadband light that targets a certain color or pigmented lesion in the skin which can minimize the appearance of age spots, sun spots, small vascular lesions, and even rosacea.
What can IPL treat?
-
Age spots
-
Small vascular lesions around the nose and face
-
Rosacea
-
Freckle reduction
-
Sun damage spots

What is the procedure and what is the downtime?
The procedure is quick and typically takes 20-30 minutes, depending on the area treated. This could literally be done on a lunch break. There is no downtime and most people continue their daily routine without disruption after IPL! The treated area is first cleansed well, then after a thin layer of gel is applied, the treatment is delivered. The discomfort is very minimal and typically does not require topical/local anesthesia. Immediately after the treatment, clients may experience slight redness or feel like they have a mild sunburn which is normal and usually subsides within hours. Most clients can achieve desired results in 1-2 sessions spaced about 4 weeks apart, but some may require more treatments. Typically, results can be seen in a few days up to 14 days.
If you love Florida, chances are you may benefit from IPL treatment to achieve that even complexion, and minimize the appearance of pigmented or small vascular lesions. We love this treatment and hope this sheds light on IPL and what it can do for you.
THE EYES OFTEN SHOW AGE FIRST:
Treating Dark Circles, Wrinkles, and Fine Lines
March 2o22
One of the most aging areas that many of us face as we age is our eyes. Some of the main issues are fine lines and wrinkles, but dark circles are often one of the primary aesthetic conditions that age the face and the person. Individuals can have dark circles from early in their lives and throughout their adulthood.
In some cases, dark circles are a result of allergies or exposure to molds or other irritating toxins or chemicals. Dark circles can also be caused by genetics, alcohol, tobacco use, over-exposure to sunlight, hyperpigmentation, which is a darkening of the skin due to sun damage, hormonal imbalance, and other issues.
It's challenging to treat dark circles with just topical creams and serums often offering broken promises, but there are ways that your eyes can regain that youthful, firm texture and decrease the prominent darkness under the eye.
Whether you want to tighten the eye area, reduce fine lines or alleviate dark circles, Velo Med Spa has numerous options. Below are just a few:

PRP-Platelet Rich Plasma
Platelet Rich Plasma therapy is a treatment that involves withdrawing a patient's own blood, processing via a centrifuge so only enriched cells (platelet-rich plasma) remain and re-injecting it into the area of concern. The healing and regener active properties of PRP are well-studied and well known, it is used in almost all phases of medical specialties from sports injuries to plastic surgery.
Platelet Rich Plasma contains essential proteins (growth factors) that stimulate natural healing Due to the natural variation in the quality of platelet-rich plasma, results will vary between individuals. Some patients may require multiple sessions to obtain desired outcomes. Usually, we advise at least 4-6 treatments to start noticing the full effect. Treatment can be spaced out between 4-6 weeks with visibility in results up to 3.5 months.

Morpheus8
Morpheus 8 is a subdermal adipose remodeling device (SARD) designed to remodel tissue and stimulate collagen production. Morpheus 8 can help treat dark circles and puffy, fat pads or "bags" under the eyes. Morpheus 8 provides tightening and toning of the skin around the eyes (upper, lower, corners) and stimulates collagen production, which reduces darkness by improving the texture of the skin.
Additionally, it improves the appearance of the face and neck to more defined facial characteristics and a younger, brighter appearance. During treatment, radiofrequency energy is delivered to remodel skin, fat, and tissue, as well as address signs of aging, irregularities, and pigmentation. The most in-demand zones include the eye area, forehead, cheeks, mouth (smile lines), jowls, and neck. InMode's facial contouring solutions provide visible, natural results to the face and neck.

IPL-Intense Pulse Light
Lumecca is a breakthrough intense pulsed light (IPL) that delivers up to 3X more energy in the 500-600 nm range to improve efficacy for vascular and pigmented lesions. It is optimized for clinicians to treat a variety of lesions, skin discoloration, skin texture issues, and more, with fewer sessions. IPL can improve the color and texture of the skin.
Fibroblast Skin Tightening
Plasma fibroblast therapy is an aesthetic procedure healthcare providers offer as an alternative to lasers, injections, or surgical therapies to tighten and improve the appearance of skin. A relatively new innovation in the beauty industry in North America, Fibroblast Skin Tightening has been used in Europe for several years. Plasma fibroblast therapy targets fibroblasts. These are collagen- and protein-producing cells in the dermis, the layer of skin just below your outermost skin layer. Fibroblasts play an important role in helping skin wounds heal as well as maintaining skin firmness and tightness. Plasma fibroblast therapy uses a pen-like device that discharges a high-frequency electric current to small areas of the skin. The plasma tip doesn't directly touch the skin, but instead releases a targeted current just above the skin. The hot current creates small holes, or micro-injuries, in the skin layer. Fibroblast Skin Tightening does not revert. The results of the fibroblast tightening treatment are as permanent as surgery. This soft surgery offers phenomenal results at an affordable price. VELO Med Spa is a National Pioneer in the industry and the only Fibroblast Practitioner servicing South Florida. Our client portfolio showcases amazing results!

What to Expect
While the procedure may vary slightly based on where you're having the treatment, the basic steps typically include:
Cleansing the skin and applying a topical anesthetic (numbing) cream. You may need to wait about 30 minutes for the numbing cream to take effect. Treating the designated skin area with the plasma pen. The pen will create small arcs of micro-currents that make small scab-like dots on the skin. A professional will remove the numbing cream and apply a cooling gel to minimize the tingling and burning sensation whenever possible.
Recovery
Once the procedure is completed, you can expect the small dots to scab over and fall off after about 1 week. Over the next couple of weeks, as your skin heals, it should appear tighter and firmer. In addition, the procedure isn't without side effects. Examples of side effects include redness, swelling, mild hyperpigmentation (light spots), mild hyperpigmentation (dark spots) & skin peeling.
